thanks Dave..is a pity the trains was not cleaned like that today..our local ones can do with a good scrub..when we had a drought few years back. .all the cleaning seemed to have stopped LOL

All the big 4 train companies cleaned their locos like this, but when British Rail was operating trains were never cleaned like this nor their diesels and electrics that replaced the steam locos, well with the exception of the prestigious trains. British Rail, would repaint them, then neglect them !! Now all our train operating companies keep their trains clean by putting them through train washers at the end of every day
